A purchase for future power plant
A purchase for future power plant
First i thought this would be a good home for my 402 big block Chevy engine ,but after a few looks at other projects and the weight issue I figured a small block 350 or a stroker 383 would be best
first purchase towards this engine ( I already have vintage valve covers and ported cylinder heads from a 1970 350)
saw on Craig list a intake i use to consider getting to try with a pair of Holley carbs
now if you look close those carbs look pretty rough for the price of 500.00 with a intake ( I had to pass on that)
next stop Ebay after 3 purchases we have this (linkage not shown)
now most persons have this intake with 450 cfm Holley's ..that's a mechanical secondary with no rear accelerator pump shot ( learned that many on the net wonder why this was even made for it gives a huge bog upon secondary's opening)
many with dual carbs that run Holley's prefer the vacuum secondary of the 600 carb ( and since there much cheaper this was the way to go , so far have 320.00 in the induction system . Next is taller 4 inch spacers ,sell the old but new 1 inch spacers and pic out air cleaners.. more to come
